Salesforce stock fell 5% on Monday following reports that the company is in advanced talks to acquire data-management firm Informatica. Shares of Informatica dropped 9% on the same day. The potential deal is being considered at a price below Informatica’s closing stock price on Friday. The talks were first reported by The Wall Street Journal on Friday and Reuters mentioned that the deal could be announced soon.

If the acquisition goes through, it would be Salesforce’s latest in a string of acquisitions in recent years. It would also be the company’s biggest deal since acquiring Slack for nearly $28 billion in 2021, marking Salesforce’s largest acquisition yet. Prior to Slack, Salesforce acquired Tableau for $15.3 billion in 2019 and MuleSoft for $6.5 billion in 2018.

Salesforce chose not to comment on the reports while Informatica, based in Redwood City, California, did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.
