Nvidia plans to invest $200 million in creating an artificial intelligence center in Indonesia in collaboration with local telco giant Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison. Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, formed after a merger between Qatar’s Ooredoo and Hong Kong’s CK Hutchison, is Indonesia’s second-largest mobile telco. Nvidia’s expansion into Indonesia marks a broader move into Southeast Asia due to increased data demand.

In a separate development, Singtel in Singapore announced a partnership with Nvidia to deploy AI capabilities in its data centers across Southeast Asia. This initiative aims to provide businesses in the region with advanced AI computing power without the need for expensive data center infrastructure. Southeast Asia has been a significant revenue driver for Nvidia, with 15% of its revenue coming from Singapore in a recent quarter. Nvidia’s data centers contributed the majority of its revenue, reaching $18.40 billion in a recent earnings report, fueled by global enthusiasm for AI technology.
